Just Do It

Now I know that perimenopause can be a time when feeling happy can be.. well, a challenge...but I really do encourage you to "do more of what makes you and others happy".

For me, it's being in a musical theatre group. I'm not a great singer (but I can hold a tune) and as for dancing - well I don’t think that the Strictly ladies have anything to worry about from me, put it that way. But our group is inclusive and we are all encouraged to have a go, whatever our skill level, which I love, even though it has meant stepping out of my comfort zone. However, I’m glad that I’ve done that because firstly it has made me proud of myself and most of all ...IT MAKES ME HAPPY!! I leave rehearsal every Sunday with a smile on my face and just buzzing. I also get to hang out with much younger people, which keeps me youthful too!

So, if you're not doing what makes you happy, then start! 

Do what brings your heart joy, what makes you feel good. Whether it's singing, cooking, sewing, crafting, knitting, photography, jogging, walking the dog, drawing, going to the gym, decorating, socialising with your friends, hugs, visiting the beach, swimming, writing, calling your friends, baking, horse riding, reading, travelling, skateboarding, gardening, birdwatching, fishing, playing sports...whatever it is, make time for it and just do it! For you. 

Put yourself first for once. You deserve to be happy. 💕
